Emily S. Coleman, Artisan
These stoneware pieces are all microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. Functional Stoneware is beautiful, long-lasting and makes a wonderful special gift for yourself or a friend. All pieces are fired to a high fire (called Cone 5 or 6) The glazes are lead free and food safe. Artisan Emily S. Coleman has signed all the individually hand-thrown pieces. She has been making art professionally since 1972, having ventured into stoneware more recently. A graduate of the Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts, MS. Coleman has studied pottery with Bob Green at the Shelburne Craft School in Shelburne, VT and apprenticed with teacher Mary Jane Neal of the Mt. Mansfield Union High School Art Department. She has also studied and apprenticed with Judith Bryant of Lincoln Pottery at Lincoln, VT. Ms. Coleman holds an MEd. From the University of VT. She teaches adult and student pottery classes locally and also works for the Livingston School District at the K-12 Levels.
