| Juliann moved to Montana 3 years ago from Iowa, where she received a B.F.A. in painting. She currently works in casein, a milk-based, water soluable paint which is thinner than acrylic but thicker than water color. Most of her work can be described as expressionistic, sometimes fauvist, sometimes completely abstract. Though there is almost always a recognizable subject matter in her pieces. In the past year she has been in several juried shows thoughout Montana, including the Art Auction at the Yellowstone Art Museum and the Art Auction at the Art Museum of Missoula. Jones also produces colored drawings which she sells in greeting card form. The cards represent almost all subjects and are representational, very colorful and whimisical. The cards sell across the U.S., on the internet at several sites including her own, www.juliannjones.com, as well as in her store The Flat Space, 124 N. Main St., Livingston Montana.
